The treatment has been in use worldwide for nearly forty years for a variety of medical conditions and our dental surgeons Dr Aoife Boland and Dr Alexia Papakonstantinou at The Wimbledon Dentist have had advanced training in the art and science of temporarily relaxing selected muscles of the face. Dr Aoife applies the same strictness in the correct protocols of providing Facial Aesthetics Treatments that she does routinely in the practice of general dentistry at The Wimbledon Dentist.
Wrinkles and frown lines develop as a result of using or overusing facial muscles repeatedly throughout a lifetime, with the skin creasing in areas of greatest use. Added to this, the ageing process causes the slow down of collagen and elastin production in the skin, so that as we get older these lines become permanent and are present even when we are not frowning or expressing ourselves. By temporarily reducing the movement of muscles in these areas, the skin temporarily stops being creased and is allowed to recover, causing the lines to soften or even fade away. In the areas treated, the muscles are temporarily inactivated (this is always reversible), during which time the patient can even break the subconscious habit of over-using these muscles.
Depending on each individual and the desired effect, the response to treatment can vary from slight relaxation of the muscle to minimal movement. Dr Aoife and Dr Alexia are skilled in the delivery of results which can be described as "Less is More"... We favour creating a beautiful natural look, that does not necessarily make it obvious that you have had a helping hand.

We strongly advise all interested patients to book a Wrinkle Reduction Consultation to discuss the available treatments further. It is so important to fully discuss your individual needs and queries surroundings Wrinkle Reduction with Dr Aoife and Dr Alexia before committing to treatments with us. We advise this even if you feel you have researched the area already or indeed if you have undergone similar treatment previously.
There is a fee of £50 for these consultations but we do refund this should you go ahead to have the treatments with us.
Its pretty easy to fit these types of appointments in around lunchbreaks, play dates or on your way home from work, so please feel free to get in touch with Emilija and Kareen who are on reception 6 days of the week and until 8pm four of those nights.
How much does Wrinkle Reduction cost?
1 area treated costs £200, 2 areas costs £300 and 3 areas costs £400.
